image

Use ABDCE steps.

ACTION: Start the story with action that pulls people like first 5mins of James Bond movie. These first 5-10 minutes are crucial in pulling crowd.

BACKGROUND: Set the context of story. Unfold main characters, their relationship, place, likes dislikes.

DEVELOP: Develop the story. The characters start moving. The story takes a shape. Audience understand their relationship, romance, pride, love, hate.

CLIMAX: Now is the Time to climax. Climax is that state or act that changes characters life. Life of characters is different after a climax.

END: Last but most important. Some stories end with a positive ending while some with not so positive with a lesson.

Every movie has unique feature. Yet they all follow this sequence. Die hard for instance is strong on the start and end, pretty woman is good on developing phase and end, James Bond good on start, climax and developing, Hindi movies  good on developing and end. Balancing the Senses.

Lighthouse

“Our Life is what we see”.

That’s true, as most of us use eyes primarily to sense the changes in the surrounding. Why it that this is the organ is used 90% of the time to sense anything and everything? Why is it that the other 4 (+1 intuitive) senses are left untouched or barely used and their use is limited?

The reason lies in our mind, the focus of mind. Anything that gets attention grows and the one that gets less attention shrinks. Using this universal rule, the vision of people have been developed so rapidly that sometimes they can recollect things in the past most accurately using photographic memory or see things that can happen in the future based on the images of the past. Many of us fear of meeting with an accident or being in a place that is going to explode or even the better ones like receiving a higher pay Cheque or going for an exotic vacation. We paint it all instantly. Based on this canvas painting our body responds creating moods. These moods then transform in to external behavior, again to be noticed by someone visually. It is a chain reaction.

Many saints, monks or spiritual people have offset this. It is by balancing the use of their senses.

Though it sounds difficult, there is a simple Mantra to achieve this, with daily practice.

Let me give you an example to help you understand how it can be done and the same can be applied across other areas of your life.

Many of us have a habit of watching TV while having food. Now, when the attention is on what’s seen on the TV, your visual and audio sense is on focus while your taste and smell sense is out of focus. Focus on the amazing tasty food you are eating and smell the freshness of that curry or sweetness of mango or the spice of the pickle. See the difference. Food would suddenly start tasting great.

There’s another example. You are in a meeting room and your boss is making a presentation about a new project. Again, here your audio-visual sense is active. These senses are helping your mind to create a picture of the project that is up-coming. With this picture you sense opportunity or challenge from this new project. Now, it is the time to activate your sixth sense which is intuitive sense. As the intuitive sense starts picking up, you will see things other wont in their normal senses. You would be able to sense opportunities that would unfold later right away or the challenges that would unfold later right away. At this time from your memory bank the mind will fetch experience of similar project that you know of and co relate with the proposed project. It will also catch the vibrations that are created due to the cosmic movements to paint the projects path of progression.

So, the whole idea to activate other senses is to de-focus from the predominant senses as much as possible and focus on the other senses that are minimally used.

The saints or monks are able to achieve Nirvana when they are in meditation state because they de-focus their mind from all the predominant senses (eyes, ears, smell, touch) and their mind is just focusing on one eternal thing which may be called energy or god or whatever.

How does one benefit by practicing this technique?

Many a times when we are working on the problem or an issue that apparently means nothing to the universal energy, it is just an event, yet we are sensing it through our eyes, ears etc. The best way to manage that event is by reducing the focus on that event and using the other senses to re-view the event. You may get a solution to solve the same issue quickly.

When we are in the middle of a traffic jam and we are focusing on it, the wait seems to be very lengthy, tiring and boring. Our mind responds with unease. In this situation, one may de focus from what is seen around to listening to music or some people may enjoy a delicious brunch (if they are carrying one) or drink a juice. That helps to de focus and you would soon realize that the traffic is easing out and your vehicle is moving out of the jam.

Many a times we are awaiting exam result. It is about a few days from now the results are going to be announced and our intuitive mind takes a flight. We fear the outcome. The worst of our fears show up. Our mind freezes and so does our body. Most people are unable to focus on other things that would give them joy and happiness only with the thought of the future. It’s time to de-focus the intuitive sense and activate our visual, touch, smell or taste buds. The mind de-focusses on making future predication which may not come true anyways and helps a person to live and enjoy in the present. Go for a movie or have that delicious meal at a restaurant. The mind gets restored to its pleasant state and this pleasant state attracts better future. So, for many people, they know the exam paper they attempted wasn’t so great yet they end up getting good marks. How is that? The disclaimer here is that it is not a suggestion to prepare poorly for the exams. It is said that a day before the exams one shouldn’t study a lot. It is just a brief revision that he needs to do. Rest all the time put one’s mind to highest state of relaxation; the results turn out to be marvelous.

How to overcome tiredness while conducting session.

Why do some people feel lots of stress and tired while conducting sessions…………….Conducting presentations is something I like to do. Yet it is sometimes taxing as it creates lot of anxiety, tiredness. Why does that happen? When a person is talking his thoughts, his breath, his speech, his actions, all have to fire in sync. Many a times this sync us lost. The mind moves faster while the tongue isnt moving that fast to catch up, the breath isnt in adjusting to the speech. That creates stress for the body since it is trying to pick up the speed of thoughts which is a tough job.How can this be overcome?1. Stop. Take 3 deep breaths. Drink some water. This helps to slow down the thoughts as one de focusses.2. Then affirm that my thoughts are evolving at a speed that my body can accept and both are now married to go together.3. Re set the pace of speech.4. Focus back to the subject.
